  • Prep time: 5 min

  • Cook time: 10 min

  • Serves: 1–2

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Pani Zina Sauerkraut (Classic or Carrot Kiss Crunch), drained slightly

  • 1 tbsp Olive oil or grass-fed butter

  • 1 small Yellow onion, thinly sliced

  • 1 clove Garlic, minced (optional)

  • 1–2 Sausages (Chicken, Turkey, or Beef), sliced into rounds

  • Sea salt & Black pepper to taste

  • Optional: Caraway seeds or Smoked Paprika for a traditional Ukrainian profile

Instructions

  • Sauté the Base: Heat the olive oil or butter in a medium pan over medium heat. Add the sliced onion and cook for 3–4 minutes until soft and translucent.

  • Brown the Protein: Add the sausage slices to the pan. Cook until they are lightly browned and crispy on the edges.

  • Aromatics: Stir in the garlic (if using) and cook for just 30 seconds until fragrant.

  • The "Living" Step: Add the sauerkraut to the pan and mix well.

    • Pro-Tip: To preserve the live probiotics and enzymes, remove the pan from the heat immediately after adding the kraut. Let the residual heat warm the kraut without killing the beneficial bacteria.

  • Season & Serve: Season with sea salt, pepper, and your choice of caraway or paprika.
